Yaki wherever you are hope you are staying warm.
You better not be just having a snooze somewhere.
This is not funny anymore. . .
I know you like being in the shadows, but can you appear for just a little bit?!
love you inna

Inna
I bet that he has been waiting for the weather to clear. In that case there is no way for him to let us know. Yes, not an easy situation but he is not unprepared.

I am only guessing here but this comment from the main page could well be right :
We are still looking for Yair Kellner, he has not showed up in Fingerlake or Puntilla.
It is possible that he bypassed Fingerlake and is on his way to Puntilla and spent the night with Ingrid and Mike at Fin Bear Lake.
I know that he was loading lots of info on his Garmin 60CSx, possibly every cabin within a 100 miles of where he was supposed to be.
He should be wearing his Suunto so he has at least another way to find his way.
Yair habitually takes a bearing every hour or so on the trail where you can see the trail, not likely at all for him to take any chances.

Thanks Franco,

Can't help but imagining the worst at the moment, but i trust that he has the skills to survive out there.

You never know, he might surprise us all and reappear and lead the race.

I just pray he is OK and safe.

Inna,

I am going out at first light to look for him in my plane.  I should be at Shell Lake by 8am, drop my dog and some gear, pick up an observer and go fly the race trail, and offshoot trails in the area.   Hopefully we will find him holed up somewhere.  I can land near anywhere with snow skis if need be, and have survival gear and first aid on board.  I spent several hours with him Tuesday night at Shell Lake Lodge, and thought he was squared away on the route, but stuff does happen.  Keep the faith that all is OK.

Email me if you want, but I am going to be off the grid by 6am Alaska time on 3/7 for three or four days.  Kathi knows how to contact me by my phones that work out there.  I will report what I find through her.

Thanks Mike for your reply to Inna - Yair had called me Tuesday eve', and with knowledge of weather, had mentioned he had a pilot that could get him back to Anchorage if he was forced to scratch - that'd be you I suppose.

Your post is very much appreciated by many that are affected by the "yair scare".  I am, for lack of better description, Yair's Anchorage sponsor - contact me if you have the opportunity, or need before tomorrow's flight.  My info, so not filtered by this forum:
